How to Connect JW Speaker Off-Road Lights to an S-Pod or Auxiliary Switch Panel
Wire to a Switched Relay Output Here Is the Correct Approach
Running your Trail 6 lights through an S-Pod or similar switch panel is a great setup — it keeps everything organized and gives you clean, dedicated control over each accessory. Here is how to wire it up correctly.
What Is an S-Pod?
An S-Pod — and similar products like sPOD, Trigger, and Powerwerx panels — is a fused power distribution box with a panel of switches. Each switch controls its own circuit through a built-in relay, so you get clean, protected power for every accessory without tapping into your factory wiring.
Wiring Your JW Speaker Lights to the S-Pod
Step 1 — Pick your circuit Choose which switch on your S-Pod you want to use for the off-road lights. Before you commit, check the wattage of your JW Speaker lights on the spec sheet and divide by 12 to get the amperage draw. Make sure the circuit you choose can handle it.
Step 2 — Connect the power wire Run the positive wire from your JW Speaker light's wiring harness to the output connector on your chosen S-Pod circuit. Most S-Pod outputs use weather-sealed connectors, so this connection stays protected.
Step 3 — Ground it properly Run the light's ground wire directly to the vehicle frame — find a bolt that goes into bare metal. Do not share a ground with other accessories, and do not rely on a corroded or painted surface. A bad ground is the most common cause of dim or flickering off-road lights.
Step 4 — Route the wiring cleanly Keep all wiring away from heat sources, exhaust, moving parts, and sharp edges. Wrap runs in split loom conduit and zip tie everything down every 12-18 inches so nothing can shift or chafe over time on the trail.
Step 5 — Test before you button it up Flip the S-Pod switch and confirm your lights come on at full output. Check that no other circuits on the panel are affected. Much easier to sort out now than on the trail.
Not Sure What Model Your Lights Are?
If your JW Speaker lights came as a gift or without documentation, flip one over and photograph the back — the model and part number are on a label there. Send the photo to JW Speaker support and they can identify the light and confirm the right wiring approach for your specific model.
