How to Set Up the J-Link App and Pair Your EVO J3 Headlights
Three Steps From Download to Full Bluetooth Control
The J-Link app is free, takes about five minutes to set up, and unlocks special off-road modes on your EVO J3 headlights. Here is how to get it running.
Before You Start
Make sure you have the following ready:
- EVO J3 headlights already installed and working in your Jeep JK
- Your smartphone (iPhone or Android)
- Your vehicle running or in accessory mode with the headlights switched on
- An internet connection for account creation
Step 1 — Download the App
Search "J-Link" in the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android) and install it. It is free.
Step 2 — Create Your Account
Open the app and tap Create Account. Enter your name, email address, and a password, then fill in your address details.
Canadian users: If you get an error on the address screen, enter any valid US zip code — 53022 works fine. Your location has no effect on how the app or your headlights function.
Getting an "Invalid Zip Code" error? Clear the field completely and type the zip code in manually. Do not paste it in — some keyboards add invisible characters that cause the error.
Once you submit, check your email for a verification link and click it. Check your spam folder if it doesn't show up within a few minutes. Then log back in to the app.
Step 3 — Pair Your Headlights
- Start your vehicle and turn the headlights on — the lights need to be on for Bluetooth to activate
- Open the app and log in
- Tap Add Device or Find Lights
- Select your EVO J3 headlights when they appear in the scan
- Follow the on-screen steps to complete pairing
Once paired, both headlights show up as a linked pair in the app and you are good to go.
What the App Unlocks
| Mode | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Off-Road Mode | Adjust beam width and brightness on the fly, activate Trail 6 Pro rock lights |
| Guide Mode | Activates an amber flash sequence to signal you are the trail leader |
| Party Mode | Custom lighting effects for camp and show use |
Everything else — high beam, low beam, DRL, front position light, and turn signal — works exactly as normal without the app.
Running Into a Problem?
| Issue | Quick Fix |
|---|---|
| Invalid zip code on signup | Clear the field and retype manually, or use zip code 53022 |
| App can't find the lights | Confirm headlights are switched on and Bluetooth is enabled on your phone |
| Says lights are already claimed | A previous owner paired them — contact support to get them reset |
